Happy Father's Day

This week is always a tough one, but I'm thankful for the happy memories and all the positive things that I have learned from my father.  He was such a great man. We are remembering him today by drinking a Pacifico and watching the US Open.

I am also thankful for my new father-in-law that I gained this year. Tim is such a great guy and I'm so lucky to be a part of the Martin family.

Love you both!

Summer

I told Derreck I haven't updated our blog and wanted his opinion on what to write. This was his response "Just sittin' here watching basketball and eating kabobs b*tches." Haha! I think I will stick to updating. Mainly because he thinks it's stupid..

Here is a recap of my weekend:
Baby Leo is such a sweetie. Joni left me with him for an hour and I can't believe that he didn't cry the whole time. He's so adorable. And I woke up on Friday morning to Andre rubbing my cheek, "Wake up sleepy head!" I sure miss living with the Sengos clan. I also caught lunch will Jeremy's girlfriend Kellie and they gave me a ride back to the airport. Hopefully we get to spend some more time with them next weekend while we are back.

Okoboji was fun! The rain ruined our plans to take the pontoon to the lake, so we just pulled the pontoon into the garage and the fun continued. We played beer pong with a volleyball and 5 gallon buckets and did an 'Amazing Race" through Lake Park.  Bad weather wasn't going ruin our fun. Our ugly dresses were a hit in town!

Our stuffed philly cheesesteak peppers from last night. Yum! Our grill that we found on Craigslist is the best purchase yet..

The smoke from the fire in Colorado Springs. I took this picture from our deck. It's so smoky! It's about an hour South of us. Prayers for everyone involved.

And, I finally took the plunge and got CO license plates today for my car. Now it's all ready for our road trip back to SD/IA next weekend for Autumn's Wedding and for the Memorial Golf Tournament. I'm excited for the gang to get back together at the wedding--it's going to be a great time!

Woohoo for SD friends!

Whew! What a crazy week! Tim and Karen were here all week and we got so much work done.

The living room is textured, painted, and ready for flooring and trim!

Wynkoop Brewery

A flight of beer at Golden City Brewery

Look at these lovebirds at the Rockies game. That is Earthman-He is on the list of the Top 100 things to Do in Denver. So we had to buy a beer and take a picture with him.
He is a famous beer vendor at Coors Field and at Red Rocks.
Memorial Day started off with a hike in Evergreen. It was such a beautiful morning, but Karen and I had trouble keeping up with the guys. Haha!

We had so much fun, and we can't wait for them to come back. The week flew by too fast and we can't thank them enough for all the help.

And just as they left Denver, Stacy flew into town for a OT conference. We met her for pizza on Friday night at Hops and Pie. It was probably the best pizza I have eaten in my entire life.

So the tally mark is up to 6 South Dakota visitors this month! We will never get homesick at this rate.

And today I am playing wife while Derreck is out hiking with a co-worker. It isn't even noon, and I have painted, applied for 2 jobs, baked banana bread, washed dishes, did 2 loads of laundry, and watered the garden. Hopefully the afternoon is just as productive. I need to get organized for my trip to Sioux Falls/Okoboji next weekend. Words can't describe how excited I am to meet Baby Leo, hang out with the coolest 2.5 year old, and celebrate one my best friend's Bachelorette Party.
