Baby Leo!

Welcome to the world Leo Austin Sengos! My cousin Joni and her husband Demetri welcomed their second son on Saturday morning. Andre is going to be a great big brother! I can't wait to meet him. What a great weekend to have a birthday! Derreck's cousin Jayder turned 6 on Saturday and Valerie, one of my best friends, is celebrating her birthday today!

Just keep swimming...

I don't know if all this spring snow has got me down in the dumps or what. But I feel like I'm just going through the motions of working, tutoring, applying for jobs, and spending every weekend working on the house. I've applied for over 12 jobs and have not even landed an interview. It's getting frustrating and unfortunately it's all about who you know. And I do not know anybody.. Hopefully this sunny forecast will spark the energy and motivation that I need to keep moving forward. 

But on a brighter note. Our bedroom is painted and our garden is planted (indoors).

And 4 gallons of paint later...

The floor is going in this weekend. We wanted to put it in on Sunday, but the guy at Home Depot told us to wait 72 hours so the floor can expand and contract with the environment. I don't quite understand how this is going to happen when it's 20 degrees one day and 65 the next, but we'll see...

I came home from work yesterday, and Derreck was working on this project. He's the best.

AHHH! I went to Home Depot for 45 minutes and came home to this disaster! Scraping off popcorn ceilings is a messy job.

What the heck?! Come on Spring! I'm afraid we are going to go straight from Winter to Summer. This is the snow storm that hit SD last night and today. This picture was taken in Littleton on Tuesday! But all this snow is almost gone and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the 50's.

Our House

So after this weekend, our house is a full-on construction zone. Here are a few pictures before we started tearing the place apart.

My tutoring student loves us! Isn't this the cutest? She told me the room with the red curtains is mine, and the bedroom with the blue curtains is Derreck's.

I am at home with a snow day today! I've been waiting for this day since December. And I don't even care that it's April because the moisture is needed, and it's supposed be in the 50's this weekend.  

Val texted me and she was making Tyler's favorite cookies today (she has a snow day too), and it motivated me to be a good wife so off the kitchen I go!

Pot Tourism begins in Colorado

We will just stick to beer. There's enough breweries here to keep us entertained for a loooong time. 

I took a big step today and bought a Rockies shirt. It's "Paint the City Purple Day" tomorrow because it is the home opener for The Rockies. I don't even like the Rockies, but it's baseball and this is America. Enough said.
