Well Derreck has been in South Dakota for more than 2 weeks now so it's been pretty quiet around here. Here is what I've been up to:

So happy that Derek and Kate came for Easter! We hit up a Rockies game, went shopping at the Outlet Mall, and woke up at 4:00am to attend the Sunrise Service at Red Rocks.

The Determan's were in town visiting family for the weekend so I met them downtown to go to another Rockies game on Sunday afternoon. It was so fun to see some Gregory people!

Check out how awesome my coworkers are! They put together this Colorado basket for me.

I had good intentions to do some yard work this weekend, but yesterday was too windy and today is freezing so I spent most of my time watching a ridiculous amount of TV and browsing Pinterest. I also went to see the movie The Other Woman. Sooo funny!

And I will sign off with some quotes from my classroom:

Me: "Today we are going to practice writing to a prompt."
Sydney: "What is a prompt?"
Zack: "It's a fancy thing where people wear sparkly dresses and tuxedos. Sometimes they even ride in a limo."

Two students won a Time with Teacher Raffle and I had to take them to a dinner and a movie after school. As we were eating, my phone rings.
Me: "Do you want to talk to Mr. Martin?"
Zack: "Yes! I will answer!"
Zack: "Hello Mr. Martin. This is President Obama and I am having a corn dog with your wife."

Did you notice that both of these quotes are from Zack?! Don't tell anyone, but he's secretly my favorite student.

A few people have been asking for pictures of our house. Here you go!

We have worked so hard to make our house a home. Thanks to everyone who has helped. Dillon, Tarell, Josey, and Brandi helped shingle. Tarell and Mike put all of the new windows in. Tim and Karen painted the whole living room and downstairs, cut down tree branches, and wired new lights and outlets in.

We are still alive..

Whoa! So I have disappeared from the blogging world for a few months. And to be honest, I don't know what happened to February, but March and the first week of April has been the most eventful month of my entire life. Derreck got a new job. We decided we are moving back to South Dakota. I got a job. We sold our house. And we will find out tonight if we bought a new house. AHHHH! And all this on top of our normal grind.

As most of you know Derreck got a new job in Sioux Falls with Xcel Energy. He has been trying to get a job with them here in Denver since we have moved here and hasn't been successful. When a job came open in Sioux Falls, he applied, interviewed, and took the job all in a week's time.

For my Spring Break, we made a trip back to SD. We spent a few days in Gregory/Burke then took off for Sioux Falls to house hunt and interview for my job. It was a very successful trip. I saw my best friends, got a job, and possibly a house.

After pouting for three weeks about leaving Colorado and my job. I have finally come around and am looking forward to our new adventure. I got a job in Harrisburg and will be teaching 3rd Grade. I am really excited about this. And who would have thought that I will get paid a little more there?! As much as I love my job here, Colorado's politics are a mess and the way they fund their education is even more of a mess.

We put our house on the market on Wednesday night at 8:00pm and our house was sold by 3:00 on Thursday afternoon. We had 9 showings in the first day. Craaaazy!

As I was talking to my co-workers on Thursday after school, I said that everything is falling into place so perfectly and something is going to go wrong soon. (I'm a pessimist sometimes.) A few of us went out for supper because I couldn't go home until 8 due to showings. And sure enough as I was getting up from our table to go to the restroom, I tripped and fell flat on my face in the middle of Buffalo Wild Wings! But if that's all I can complain about right now then I guess I am pretty darn lucky! Well, and I miss Bailey who is in SD until we move back.. but still, pretty darn lucky!

Here is our last month..er, 2 months, in photos

Derreck and Bailey taking a break.

My co-workers and I after a 5K on St. Patrick's Day.

This was way too entertaining. Mary Bob could take the DC Lynch Carnival out of business with this machine. My face still hurts from laughing and my head still hurts from the gallons of beer that were consumed.

We sold our house and I signed my teaching contract on the very same day!

It is Derreck's last weekend in Denver so we are jumping on the light rail in a few hours to take in America's favorite pastime. Baseball and beer!
