So it's been close to a month since my last update.. Oops! With a classroom website to manage, I tend to forget about our blog.

I will start out will some classroom new because 1st Graders are really funny.

"Mrs. Martin, did you know that Justin Bieber is in jail?"
"No, I didn't. What happened?"
"He abandoned his girlfriend at the dinner table."
From the back of the line, "Mrs. Martin, what does abandoned mean?"

"Why do you have a D on your necklace?"
"Because my first name starts with a D."
"Is your real name Dansbury? That's a pretty name."

We are writing how to papers. I told the kids to write about something they know a lot about or something that they are really good it. Here is what 1 of my little friends is good at and I couldn't agree more.

The Martin Motel turned back into a construction zone during January, we decided to re-paint and texture the entry way and basement. Without the help of Tim and Karen, we would have never finished.

 No more popcorn ceilings!

A panoramic of before the texture and paint

Cheap labor! We are so thankful for parents who love to help with house projects.

All that's left is trim and new light fixtures. Then onto the next project..

It's a great time to live in Denver. It's been 60 degree that last two weekends and the Broncos are in the Super Bowl! The town is United in Orange, and I packed up my green and yellow until next year and jumped on the bandwagon.

Tim and Karen came out for the long weekend. It was a good time. We shopped at Belmar, went to see Lone Survivor at the theater, and watched the Broncos game at The Tavern downtown Littleton. The weather was beautiful. We were sad to see them go on Monday. 3 days wasn't enough.

"Has anybody ever told you that you look like Peyton Manning?"-Old man at the Tavern on Sunday

Even Bailey has her orange on.

And, I saved the best for last. I got this adorable card in the mail this week. I'm so happy for Val and Tyler. Can't wait to spoil Baby Van Juran!
